This all changed when in 1982 we launched the world’s first single-serve coffee system, the Filterpack—the predecessor of today’s Freshpack. In 1989, this came together with a new generation of brewers, and the FLAVIA® brand was born.
By 2001, over 2 billion Freshpacks had been sold. By 2005, it was 3 billion. We ceased branding Freshpack drinks as FLAVIA® and made the Freshpack the best way to enjoy the brands consumers already loved, in the workplace. We acquired the Alterra Coffee and the Bright Tea Company, and around these core brands built partnerships with global coffee Lovemarks that endure to this day.
At the end of 2018, FLAVIA® became part of the Lavazza Group. The FLAVIA® brand now has a renewed and pivotal role to continue doing what it has always done—focusing on the needs of real people in the real world of work.
